Remember more of your day in under 60 seconds

Journaling doesn't have to take long. In memorist, one quick Entry lets you capture what matters in under a minute — tap + or the Entry button, jot a line, and you're done. No setup, no blank-page anxiety. A quick daily entry keeps your memory sharp and builds a record you can look back on.

Launch the app and tap the button on the timeline, or the Entry button, to start a new Entry. On the Today section you can also tap the Mic button to start dictating an Entry, or the Camera button to capture a photo Entry — handy shortcuts for the fastest possible capture.

The Entry editor opens ready for you to write. Note what happened, how you felt, or the one thing you want to remember. There's no template to fill out and no fields you have to complete — just capture what mattered in your own words.

Inside the same editor you can add a mood, so a quick line can still carry how the day felt. You decide how much to record: some days it's a sentence, some days it's a paragraph. There's no wrong amount — the best journal is one you'll actually use.

There's no required length. A few words is all you need. You might note what happened, how you felt, or one thing you want to remember. Even a single sentence is a complete Entry.

Examples of quick entries:

  • "Had coffee with Sam. First time in months."
  • "Presentation went well. Got positive feedback."
  • "Tired today. Skipped the gym but went for a walk."

As you write, memorist may suggest tags based on what you've typed — like people, places, or topics. Tap any tag to add it. You can also attach photos and pick a type label right here in the same editor. Tags and photos make it easy to find entries later.

Your Entry auto-saves as you write. When you're finished, tap Done at the top right to return to your timeline. The whole process — from opening the app to finishing — takes under 60 seconds.

Your Entry lands on today's date. You can log as many times a day as you like — capture the morning, then come back after dinner. Come back tomorrow and do it again.

Tips for building a daily habit

Same time each day.
Journaling at the same time — morning coffee, lunch break, before bed — helps it stick. Consistency matters more than length.
Don't overthink it.
A few words is better than no entry. You can always come back and add more later.
Use the shortcuts on low-energy days.
When you're not sure what to write, tap the Mic on the Today section and just say a sentence, or snap a photo with the Camera — either one starts an Entry in seconds.
One line is enough.
Some days all you need is a single sentence. The point is to show up, not to write a novel.
