Journaling doesn't have to take long. memorist's Day Journal uses guided prompts so you can capture what matters in under a minute — no setup, no blank-page anxiety. A quick daily entry keeps your memory sharp and builds a record you can look back on.
Launch the app and tap at the top right of the screen. A menu appears with entry types including Entry and Day Journal. Select Day Journal — it's designed for quick daily reflection.
The Day Journal comes with default prompts like Mood, Day, Challenges, Highlights, Gratitude, and Intent — but you don't have to use them all. Tap Customize to choose which prompts appear and remove the ones that don't resonate with you.
This is what sets the Day Journal apart: you decide what's worth reflecting on each day. Some people keep just Mood and Highlights. Others add every prompt. There's no wrong setup — the best journal is one you'll actually use.
Your customization is saved automatically, so tomorrow's entry will open with exactly the prompts you chose.
There's no required length. A few words per prompt is all you need. You might note what happened, how you felt, or one thing you want to remember. Even a single prompt with one sentence is a complete entry.
Examples of quick entries:
As you write, memorist may suggest tags based on what you've typed — like people, places, or topics. Tap any tag to add it. Tags make it easy to find entries later.
Your entry auto-saves as you write. When you're finished, tap Done at the top right to return to your timeline. The whole process — from opening the app to finishing — takes under 60 seconds.
Day Journal entries are one per day, so your entry is automatically associated with today's date. Come back tomorrow and do it again.
